VOLUNTEER YOUR EXPERTISE

Give time. Bring professional judgement. Help someone reach the next safe step.

Aurora intends to enable qualified psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, lawyers, doctors, social workers, educators and other relevant professionals through a verified, governed network.

Registration is not open yet.The verification, safeguarding, supervision and interaction controls must be operational before applications are accepted.

VERIFICATION BEFORE VISIBILITY

Good intentions are not a credential.

Professional access is gated by identity, competence, jurisdiction, conduct and ongoing eligibility.

Identity verification

Aurora must establish that the applicant is the person whose credentials and declarations are being reviewed.

Professional licence or registration

Where a profession is regulated, current registration and status must be checked against the responsible authority before the role is activated.

Jurisdiction and scope of practice

A professional declares where they may practise and what they are qualified to do; Aurora must not present advice outside that boundary.

Languages and expertise

Users should be able to understand what a volunteer can help with and in which languages, without inflating competence.

Safeguarding and conduct

Participation requires explicit acceptance of conduct, safeguarding, reporting and boundary rules before access is granted.

Availability and service boundaries

Volunteer time, response expectations and the difference between information, peer support and professional care must stay clear.

Conflict and disciplinary disclosure

Material conflicts, restrictions and relevant disciplinary matters belong in the verification workflow, not in an honour system.

Periodic re-verification

Credentials, declarations and eligibility expire or change; continued access therefore depends on scheduled re-checks.

ROLE BOUNDARIES

A verified title does not create unlimited authority.

What a professional can do inside Aurora should be narrower than or equal to their verified competence, legal scope and assigned platform role.

A VERIFIED ROLE MAY

Contribute within a defined scope

  • Answer or review information within the verified professional domain
  • Help a person understand appropriate next-step options
  • Identify when a question should move to emergency, safeguarding or another qualified service
  • Work only in the jurisdictions and languages actually verified for that role

A VERIFIED ROLE MAY NOT

Use Aurora as unrestricted private practice

  • Operate outside verified competence or jurisdiction
  • Create unrecorded private contact routes with vulnerable users
  • Make unsupported diagnostic, legal or safeguarding determinations
  • Override emergency, safeguarding, consent, reporting or moderation controls

EXPECTED ONBOARDING

What a future applicant should expect.

No public profile or direct user access appears simply because an application was submitted.

  1. Eligibility checkRole, profession, jurisdiction and intended contribution.
  2. Identity and credential evidenceEvidence is verified against the responsible authority before the profile can become visible.
  3. Safeguarding and boundary acceptanceClear rules for conduct, escalation, documentation, conflicts and contact with vulnerable users.
  4. Controlled role activationPermissions are limited to the verified role, geography, scope and approved interaction type.
  5. Re-verificationContinued participation depends on current eligibility, conduct and scheduled evidence checks.

BEFORE DIRECT INTERACTION

The safety system has to exist before the conversation does.

01

Permission

Who may contact whom, in what role and for what purpose is enforced.

02

Consent and boundaries

People understand the role, limits and consequences before interaction begins.

03

Escalation and reporting

Emergency, safeguarding, conduct and abuse routes are available to both sides.

04

Audit and re-check

Material actions and eligibility changes can be reviewed without exposing more personal data than necessary.

SAFE PARTICIPATION

Professional help without ungoverned access to vulnerable people.

Direct interaction, especially involving minors, will not launch until messaging, consent, supervision, reporting, escalation, audit and safeguarding controls are enforceable in code and operating procedure.

Until then, this page explains the standard rather than pretending registration is available.
