COMMUNITY, WITHOUT THE SOCIAL-MEDIA LOGIC

A place to feel less alone without turning vulnerability into engagement.

Aurora Community is being designed for moderated peer support, useful questions and verified expertise. It will not launch as an open social feed.

THE COMMUNITY MODEL

Connection with limits that are visible before you participate.

Aurora should make it obvious who can see a contribution, what role another participant holds and when a safety concern may need human escalation.

Ask without exposing yourself

Pseudonymous or anonymous participation can reduce social risk where it is safe and lawful, with clear limits when safeguarding escalation is required.

Moderated peer support

Topic-led spaces are designed for useful conversation, not follower counts, popularity, recommendation loops or virality.

Verified professional participation

Professionals appear in clearly identified roles only after identity, credential, jurisdiction and conduct checks are complete.

Escalation when safety changes

Reporting, moderator intervention and safeguarding escalation are product controls with audit trails, not policy text sitting outside the experience.

WHAT PARTICIPATION SHOULD FEEL LIKE

Useful, bounded and easy to leave.

No popularity mechanics

No follower counts, public status scores or incentives to turn distress into reach.

Clear identity signals

Users can see whether they are reading a peer, moderator or verified professional contribution.

Reporting that reaches a human process

Safety reports need defined review, escalation and appeal routes rather than disappearing into a generic form.

Private by default

Participation should expose no more identity than the purpose genuinely requires.

BEFORE ANY FUTURE POST

The person should know what will happen first.

01

Choose the level of identity

Use the least identifying participation mode that is safe and lawful for the space.

02

See the audience

Know whether a contribution is visible to a topic group, moderator or verified professional before sharing it.

03

Understand the boundary

Peer conversation is not emergency response, therapy or a substitute for professional care.

04

Leave or report easily

Exit, block and report controls should be prominent without requiring confrontation or a public explanation.

WHEN SOMETHING IS REPORTED

A report enters a governed human process.

  • The reporter receives a clear acknowledgement and can leave the conversation.
  • The moderation role and escalation route are defined before launch.
  • Imminent-danger, self-harm, grooming and child-safeguarding signals follow separate tested procedures.
  • Appeal and audit records exist where a moderation decision affects access or safety.

WHAT AURORA WILL NOT BUILD

Vulnerability is not a growth mechanic.

  • No behavioural advertising or support-intent retargeting
  • No engagement streaks, public popularity scores or follower races
  • No recommendation system optimised to keep a distressed person scrolling
  • No disguised sponsored support recommendations

NOT YET OPEN

Community opens after the safeguards do.

The release gate includes moderation coverage, prohibited-content rules, grooming and harassment controls, self-harm and imminent-danger escalation, reporting and appeals, auditability, privacy defaults and tested incident procedures.

Until those controls are enforceable, Aurora will not simulate a live community experience.
